About Legacy SC

For years, the New Lenox Soccer Assocation referred to as NLSA has been sending its best soccer players to surrounding clubs as we only provided a recreational soccer experience.

After several years of discussion, in 2010 the NLSA Board Members decided to open a competitive travel soccer program within NLSA.

It was decided that the competitive program would provide players with a playing experience coached by United States Soccer Federation (USSF) licensed coaches and trainers, as opposed to volunteer coaches on which the recreational soccer program depends on.

After a couple of crazy months filled with decisions involving team colors, logo, program name, etc. . . . the Legacy Soccer Club was formed.

Our first fall session for the Legacy Soccer Club consisted of 10 teams and included approximately 120 players.  We were excited to field teams at many levels, starting with U8 Boys & Girls teams.

In the winter of 2010, the Legacy Soccer Club started a Little Legacy program.  This program was specifically designed for players from kindergarten through 2nd grade.  The purpose of this program was to give our younger children exposure to higher levels of skills training in a fun environment that incorporates skills development with small sided, small field matches.

As we fast forward to 2022, our competitive program now contains over 20 teams and 300 players ranging from U8 thru High School.  Our High School age teams participate in local and out of state College Showcases.  In addition, Legacy SC is one of the only clubs in the area that has several local area high school and college coaches on staff with many of our coaches continuing to play competitive soccer or on staff for semi-pro team Steel City FC in the Midwest Premier League.

We look forward to seeing where this Legacy journey will take you in the future as we continue to build our competitive program and provide our local athletes with opportunities as both players and individuals.
